    Ingredients

Gluten, egg, and dairy free Oreo donuts

    Donuts:

    • gluten free 1:1 flour
    • cocoa powder
    • light brown sugar
    • granulated sugar
    • salt
    • baking soda
    • baking powder
    • avocado oil
    • flax eggs
    • almond milk
    • white vinegar
    • vanilla extract

    Frosting:

    • gluten free Oreos
    •  dairy free butter
    • powdered sugar
    •  vanilla extract
    • water
    • salt

See the recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

    • First, preheat oven to 350°F.
    • Next, coat the donut pan (lightly) with the oil of your choice. Then set aside.
    • After, combine the flax meal with water and then allow it to sit for 5-8 minutes while thickening to make the flax eggs.
    • Meanwhile, combine vinegar and room-temperature almond milk then set aside.
    • Afterward, in a large bowl, whisk together cocoa, flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugars, and salt.
    • Next, add flax eggs into your dry mixture and half of the almond milk mixture. Then, begin to mix with a rubber spatula, afterwards add the remaining almond milk mixture, vanilla, and oil then stir until combined.
    • Then, place the mixture into a piping bag and fill the donut pan ⅔ of the way. Next, bake for 13-15 minutes until they spring back when touched. Lastly, allow the donuts to cool for 15 minutes before finally removing them and then placing the donuts on a wire rack.

    Make Oreo frosting:

    • First, combine all frosting ingredients except Oreos in a bowl. Then, use a spoon to spread the frosting (it will be thick). Next, immediately sprinkle donuts with crushed cookies and a pinch of salt. Finally, allow drying.

    Equipment

A silicone donut pan is generally recommended for this recipe.

    Storage and reheating

    Storage

Store donuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For best results, freeze donuts for up to 1 month.

    Reheating

You can reheat in air fryer.

Here's how you can do it:

    1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F.
    2. Place the donuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket or tray. Make sure to leave some space between them so that they can cook evenly.
    3. Cook the donuts for 2-4 minutes, depending on the size and thickness of the donuts. Check them periodically to ensure they don't burn.
    4. If the donuts are not yet warm or crispy enough, you can continue to cook them for an additional minute or two.
    5. Once the donuts are heated through and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two before serving.
