Top Tips
- Do not overbake the brownies. No one wants crispy brownies! The baking time of Naked Nutritions Naked Brownie mix is spot on and y works well in all ovens.
- Use regular commercial peanut butter for the best results and a creamy center.
- Make sure your peanut butter is frozen before placing it in between the two layers of brownies.
Creamy Peanut Butter Center
- The key to these protein-packed, peanut butter-stuffed brownies is the creamy peanut butter center. To achieve this, we are freezing a layer of peanut butter on wax paper (for easy removal) in the freezer for one hour. This ensures that the layer of peanut butter doesn’t mix into the brownie batter, but is instead baked evenly in the center of these fudgy brownies. This will give us the end result that reflects something like Reese’s, yet it’s peanut butter sandwiches in between 2 brownie layers.
Choosing a peanut butter
- I do recommend using more commercial peanut butter that has less oil on the top. Commercial peanut butter usually has stabilizers in them that will keep it from separating during the baking process. While I’m a fan of natural peanut butter at almost all times, this is a recipe that does require a more commercialized peanut butter for the best results.
FAQ
Can you freeze brownies?
Absolutely, wrap them in a freezer-friendly wrap, then place them into an airtight container. These can be kept frozen for up to 3 months. To thaw out, just allow them to come to room temperature.
What if I only have natural peanut butter?
If natural peanut butter is all that you have, of course, you can use it. Just be sure to mix the entire jar of peanut butter thoroughly, mixing in all of the access oils.
What if I have a nut allergy?
If you have a nut allergy, you can easily swap out the peanut butter for something like sun butter or cashew butter.
Just want a small batch of brownies?
That’s perfectly fine, just cut this recipe in half! Since it doesn’t call for ingredients like eggs, cutting it in half is easily done.
