Why you will love this recipe

Minimal Ingredients - Aside from the fruit served with this creamy sweet dip, you only need four simple ingredients to pull this together, including water.

Simple Process - There is zero cooking required to make this. Everything gets added to the blender or food processor and blended until smooth. Anyone can make this!

Meal Prep - This is a great make-ahead you can add to your kids’ lunches all week long.

Customizable -  Use this as a guide and then have fun adding additional flavors.

Interactive - This fun fruit dip will have your family gathering around the plate trying out their favorite dippers and combinations. It’s perfect for a party!

    Ingredients

Lactose-Free Cottage Cheese - Cottage cheese is an excellent source of both protein and calcium. Blending it gives it a texture slightly similar to whipped ricotta.

Honey - Adds just enough sweetness without being overwhelming.

Vanilla Extract - The higher the quality of the vanilla extract, the more pronounced the flavor. It adds a delicate sweetness and a floral note.

Water - Water not only thins out the dip but also helps give the cottage cheese its whipped creamy texture.

    Instructions

    • Add all of the ingredients to a food processor or blender.
    • Blend until smooth and creamy, about two minutes.
    • Use a spatula to push down any thick spots and then blend a little more.
    • If your dip seems too thick add a little additional water to thin it out.

    Variations

This is a great base for a vanilla fruit dip. You can add additional ingredients to change up the flavor profile a little. Here are some ideas:

    • Add fresh fruit such as a handful of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a combination.
    • Along with the other ingredients add a tablespoon or two of your favorite preserves.
    • Swap out the honey for maple syrup.

How to Serve Whipped Cottage Cheese Fruit Dip

    • Serve this dip alongside your favorite fruits such as strawberries, pineapple, mandarin oranges, grapes, and apples.
    • Instead of a dip, you can also use this as a spread on your favorite gluten-free toast.

    Storage

Because this is a dairy-based dip you will want to keep this refrigerated in an airtight container unless it’s being stored. If kept refrigerated it will keep for up to five days.

Whipped cream with fruits on the side

    Equipment

    • Food Processor/Blender - This allows you to easily take the curds of the cottage cheese and transform them into a smooth, slightly whipped texture that begs for dipping.
    • Measuring cups/Spoons
    • Spatula - Makes it easy to scrape down the sides of your food processor so all of the cottage cheese can easily be blended.

    Top tips

    • Use water to help you achieve your desired texture for this creamy fruit dip. Want it a little thinner? Add more water.
    • You can adjust the sweetness to your preference. If you like things a little sweeter, add a little additional honey. Keep in mind though that this is meant to be served with naturally sweet fruit.
