This blueberry bliss tropical smoothie is perfect if weight loss is your goal. It’s so easy to make, comes together in just 2 minutes, and is packed with healthy fats and powerful antioxidants.
This blueberry smoothie is also dairy-free, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free. If weight loss isn’t your goal, that’s ok, simply add in some oatmeal and protein powder!

For this smoothie, we have combined blueberries, frozen bananas, and almond butter to create a fat-burning, taste-bud-pleasing morning shake! As a holistic nutritionist, one of the first things that clients ask me for is a smoothie or protein shake that they can add to the mornings when they don’t have time to make breakfast, or for a light breakfast before hitting the gym. This blueberry smoothie is just the recipe to get them by!
This smoothie is high in protein and fiber and may aid in weight loss by not only keeping you fuller longer in the morning, but no one should start their day without breakfast. Especially if weight loss is your goal, you run the risk of slowing down your metabolism when you skip breakfast.

A slow metabolism means you are burning fat at a slower rate. The goal is always to have a fast metabolism, therefore, your mitochondria is able to burn fat at a faster rate. So, if you have been skipping breakfast, I highly recommend adding this blueberry smoothie to your morning routine.
Not only are smoothies an easy breakfast, but you only need one kitchen appliance, which is your blender. No added dishes to make this breakfast!
Ingredients
Almond milk: Almond milk is dairy free and low in calories. It’s creamy and lends texture to this smoothie. Although, any milk of your choice will do fine here.
Blueberries: Fresh or frozen blueberries will work fine in this smoothie. If you buy frozen blueberries, just double-check to be sure they don’t have any added sugars or corn syrup.
Banana: This smoothie doesn’t have any added sugars, the banana will lend plenty of sweetness. I like to use frozen bananas to help keep the smoothie cold.
Chia seeds: Chia seeds are an excellent source of fiber, which can improve heart health, reduce cholesterol levels and promote intestinal health. Fiber takes longer to digest and makes you feel satisfied longer, which is how it can help with weight loss and keep the bowels moving along.
Dairy-free Greek yogurt: Provides protein and creaminess to the smoothie. I use dairy free but any will do fine, just watch the sugar content.
Almond butter: I like to use sugar and oil-free almond butter by Spread the Love. Almond butter provides protein keeping you fuller longer and healthy fats to help speed up the metabolism.

Instructions
Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender. Make sure the opening of the blender is closed and blend until completely smooth. You can adjust the texture by adding more almond milk if you wish.

Storage
If you have just made a smoothie and want to store it for later, you can refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. However, the longer you store it, the more it will separate and lose its texture and flavor. So, it is best to consume it as soon as possible.
Equipment
High-power blender: you want to be certain you are using a high-power blender in order to blend the oranges all the way through.
Top Tips
Do not omit the frozen banana: Adding a banana to the smoothie will not only add a creamy texture but also provide natural sweetness. If you can’t have banana, try using frozen mango in its place.
Add ice: If you want a colder smoothie, you can add ice cubes or crushed ice to the blender. However, be careful not to add too much ice as it may dilute the flavor.

Why drink a smoothie at breakfast?
Breakfast smoothies are not only satisfying, but you can take them with you on the go. Grab a cup with a straw and carry the smoothie right along with you to the carpool line or on the way to work! Now, as a nutritionist, I don’t always recommend taking your breakfast with you on the go, as starting our day hectic tends to call for a hectic day. But life can get busy at times and sometimes we just need to carry our breakfast with us.
Why shouldn’t I skip breakfast?

Hello, unfortunately, Nutrition is calculated by a computer whenever on a recipe online. I would not go by the Nutrition stated there, and I would plug-in the exact ingredients that you were using into a fitness app. But do keep in mind that fruit contains natural sugar. It’s not necessarily grams of sugar, coming from an added source, such as cane sugar, but the sugar source that is in fruit in general, which is a different type of sugar
