This antioxidant breakfast smoothie is an excellent means to start your day. It will fill your morning with vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants and supply a clean energy source that will keep you running strong through the day. Antioxidants are essential to support and protect your cells against environmental damage.
I like to use this recipe when I need a quick and healthy breakfast. This is a kid-friendly favorite breakfast as well!
Ingredients
- strawberries
- blueberries
- almond butter
- almond milk
- honey
- vanilla extract

Substitutions
The berries and nut butter used are interchangeable with any fruit, nut butter, or nut butter substitute. Add a scoop or two of your favorite protein powder and drink as a protein packed post workout antioxidant breakfast smoothie... that rolls off the tongue nicely.
Storage
It is best to consume this smoothie immediately or shortly after the smoothie is blended. You may also pour the smoothie into ice cube trays, freeze, and add to a different smoothie.
Top tip
Pour antioxidant breakfast smoothie into popsicle molds for a healthy frozen treat, or snack.

Antioxidant Breakfast Smoothie
Equipment
- 1 blender
Ingredients
- 10 approximately strawberries frozen berries work best, add a handful of ice cubes if using fresh berries
- ½ cup blueberries
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- ¾ - 1 cup almond milk
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract alcohol free if possible
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth
Food safety
- Be sure blender comes to a complete stop before removing the lid or putting utensils or your hands into the blender pitcher.
- Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods.
