This jalapeño popper dip is about to be the talk of your next Sunday football party! Cream cheese, sharp cheddar, garlic powder and jalapeños combine together for the perfect mix of spicy and creamy flavors that we all love from the famous appetizer. BUT, this dip is even more versatile because you can put it on Texas Toast or tortilla chips.

I love whipping up this jalapeno popper dip because it only takes a few minutes and is truly so easy. My kid always says his favorite part is the golden brown cheese on top and I'd have to agree.

"Nothing better than a football game and some of this Jalapeno dip! The boys loved this one and it was perfect for being served right out of the crock pot. Definitely make this one again."

    Key Ingredients

Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the page for a full list of ingredients and their exact amounts.

    Jalapeño Popper Dip ingredients labeled.
    • Texas Toast 5 Cheese: I love New York Bakery® Gluten Free Texas Toast Five Cheese! It is bursting with Parmesan cheese and the perfect bite when topped with my jalapenos popper dip
    • Cream Cheese: Softened cream cheese is perfect for getting that famous dipping sauce.
    • Cooked Bacon: Everything is better with bacon! It adds the perfect salty touch to help finish the jalapeno dip.
    • Jalapeños: The star of the show. I use fresh peppers because I like extra spice, but a jar of pickled jalapeños also works great if you want to keep the spice levels down.

    Variations

    • Choose your Cheese: I used two kinds of cheese and cream cheese. You can easily substitute in one cup parmesan cheese or sour cream to give it a different twist. Cheddar cheese is also another fan favorite.
    • Add a Crust: I made mine with a cheese crust but bread crumbs or one cup panko bread crumbs are another fantastic option to add a special touch to this dish.
    • Use a Slow Cooker: Make your jalepeno popper dip in a crock pot or instant pot instead of a baking dish so you can keep it hot all party long!

    Expert Tips

    • Serve it Warm: To keep it warm, serve it straight from the oven or keep it on the warm setting in a slow cooker.
    • Avoid Hard Cheese: If you do not want the cheese to harden while it is being served, add all the cheese to the dip before baking.
    • Dairy Free: If you are dairy-free, you can use dairy-free cream cheese and dairy-free cheese to make this dip completely dairy-free.
    • Make it Ahead of Time: If you want to prep this dish ahead of time, you can make it the day before and bake just before serving.

    Jalapeño Popper Dip FAQs

How do I make my dip less spicy?

Look for jalapeños that are bright green. Dark green jalapeños have more time to develop capsaicin, the compound that creates heat. Stress lines, or little brown lines in the pepper will also indicate it is a hotter pepper. Pickled jalapeños are also more mild and a safer option.

What is the best sauce to use with Jalapeño Popper Dip?

I love adding honey or hot honey to my dip! The sweet and spice mixes perfectly with the creamy cheesy flavor of the dip. Ranch and Blue Cheese Dressings are also great options to compliment the spicy flavor.

    Is this recipe gluten-free?

Yes! All the recipes on my website are gluten-free and I used gluten-free Texas toast for this dip. You can use regular gluten bread and crackers with this dip as long as you do not have a gluten allergy.
