These Crispy Beef Broth Bowls are my take on the viral beef broth bowl that's been taking over TikTok and Instagram. Seasoned ground beef gets browned until crispy, then piled over fluffy rice and finished with a creamy, savory broth and fresh toppings. It's an easy ground beef rice bowl that's ready in about 30 minutes.
What makes my version different is the broth. Instead of plain beef broth, I simmer it with red curry paste, garlic, and coconut milk, then finish it with fresh lime juice and cilantro for a Thai-inspired twist. The beef gets its own kick from smoked paprika, ginger, and a little cayenne, and tangy pickled red onions and crunchy cucumbers on top balance out all that creamy, spicy flavor. Key Ingredients
See the recipe card at the end of the post for a full list of ingredients and their exact amounts.

- Ground Beef: I used 93/7 lean ground beef to keep these bowls a little lighter, and it still gets nice and crispy. If you want it extra crispy, 80/20 ground beef works great too. Just drain the excess fat after browning.
- Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth: I use Kettle & Fire Classic Beef Bone Broth for a rich, deep flavor. It also has 10 grams of protein per cup, which makes these bowls even more nourishing. Any good-quality beef bone broth works, just double-check that it's gluten-free.
- Red Curry Paste: This gives the broth its Thai-inspired flavor and a little heat. Check the label to make sure your brand is gluten-free.
- Coconut Milk: Coconut milk makes the broth creamy and balances out the spice.
- Fresh Lime and Cilantro: A squeeze of lime juice and fresh cilantro stirred in at the end keep the broth bright and fresh.
Flavor Variations
- Make it milder by cutting back on the cayenne and Thai chili flakes, or leaving them out.
- Swap the ground beef for ground turkey or ground chicken.
- Use cauliflower rice or quinoa instead of white rice.
- Add veggies like spinach, bok choy, or shredded carrots to the broth while it simmers.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"These beef broth bowls are so delicious! They are a no-brainer when it comes to dinner. They are so easy to make and even better when you add avocado on top!"

HOW TO Make Crispy Beef Broth Bowls

Step 1. Start by cooking your rice, or heat up pre-cooked rice. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. As it begins to brown, add 4 minced garlic cloves, the smoked paprika, Thai chili flakes, cayenne pepper, ground ginger, and salt.

Step 2. Next, keep cooking, breaking the beef into small pieces, until it is browned and slightly crispy. Remove the beef from the skillet and drain any excess oil.

Step 3. Then, in the same skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, the red curry paste, and 2 minced garlic cloves. Stir for about 2 minutes, until fragrant. Pour in the coconut milk and beef bone broth, stir until combined, and bring to a simmer.
Step 4. After that, stir in the salt, lime juice, and cilantro. Let the broth simmer for about 5 minutes.

Step 5. To assemble, add rice and crispy beef to a bowl, then spoon the broth over everything. Top with sliced mini cucumbers, sesame seeds, Thai chili flakes, pickled red onions, green onions, and fresh cilantro, and serve warm.
Nicole's EXPERT Tips
- Don't stir the beef too often. Letting it sit in the hot pan for a minute at a time is what makes it crispy.
- Drain the beef well so the crispy bits stay crispy and the broth doesn't get greasy.
- Add the lime juice and cilantro at the very end to keep the broth fresh and bright.
- If you're meal prepping, keep the broth separate until you're ready to eat so the beef stays crispy.
