How to Make Sweet Chili Sauce Chicken

Step 1. Wash the chicken and pat it dry. Then, slice it into small cubes roughly the same size.

Step 2. In a medium bowl, mix the chicken with the paprika, salt, garlic powder, and oregano until evenly coated.

Step 3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Then, add the chicken and cook for 2 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 4. Add the diced sweet peppers and cook for 3 minutes until they begin to soften.Stir as they cook.

Step 5. Add the tomato paste and sweet chili sauce and cook for 2 minutes. Then, add the water, beef stock, and cream cheese.

Step 6. Reduce the heat to medium-low, stir continuously to loosen the cream cheese, and cook until thickened.

Step 7. For a thicker sauce, make a slurry of 3 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and add it to the chicken. Cook until thickened. Then plate and enjoy!
Expert Tips
- If you are gluten free, be sure you buy sweet chili sauce specifically labeled gluten free. Sesame seeds are a great gluten free option too.
- Keep the heat at medium when cooking the chicken so the outside cooks and the spices toast without burning.
- You only need to cook the chicken for about 2 minutes per side. The rest of the cooking process will cook it to perfection.
- If you choose to add hot peppers of any kind to this dish, wash your hands thoroughly after handling them, and NEVER touch your face.
- Cook your chicken for about 2 minutes per side. It will continue to cook as you add other ingredients and be perfectly done by the time the dish is complete.

- 1 ½ tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 ½ tablespoon sweet paprika

- 4 mini sweet red peppers diced small
- ¾ cup beef broth
- ¾ cup water
- 5 oz cream cheese
Optional for Thickening the Sauce
- 3 tablespoon cold water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- When rinsing chicken, hold it as close to the bottom of the sink as possible and use a gentle stream of water to avoid splashing.
- Wash the sink and counters immediately after rinsing the chicken.
- Cook your chicken for the time specified in the recipe. It finishes cooking as the rest of dish cooks.
