Air fryer cooking is not something I was keen on right away. In fact, it was my daughter who convinced me to buy one. But let me tell you, boy, am I glad she did! Not only does the air fryer get things done quickly, but air fryer cooking is healthier than frying. They are so quick and easy to use. And my favorite of all, is they are easy to clean!
Pair them with my gluten-free mashed potatoes or crispy air fried parmesan potatoes and veggies like air fryer asparagus or pan fried squash and zucchini for a full meal that's ready in no time!

Key Ingredients
You'll find a complete list of ingredients and their exact amounts in the recipe card at the end of the post.

- Pork Chops: Thin boneless pork chops cook quickly and evenly in the air fryer.
- Brown Sugar and Mustard: They create a flavorful coating on the pork with every bite.
- Seasonings: A blend of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme creates a savory, aromatic flavor the goes perfectly with the sweetness of the brown sugar.
- Garlic Olive Oil: I use Costabile garlic olive oil to add an extra touch of flavor to the chops. It also gives an extra crisp in the air fryer. Use Code: 15GoldenGK for 15% off.
Variations
- Pork Chops: The flavors used with these chops work great with my Pasta and Pork Chops recipe. You can also find a similar pork seasoning in my Pork Tenderloin recipe.
- Spicy: Add red pepper flakes for a kick of heat.

How to Make Air Fryer Thin Pork Chops

Step 1. Combine the seasonings and brown sugar in a bowl. Then, add the olive oil and mix to form a thick paste.

Step 2. Pat the pork chops dry and liberally coat them with the rub.

Step 3. Place the chops in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F, flipping once, until the internal temperature registers 145°F.

Step 4. Enjoy with your favorite sides!
Expert Tips
- Always Preheat Your Air Fryer: This will ensure your pork chops are evenly cooked and match up to the total cook time. Preheating should take about 3 minutes.
- Give the Chops Room: Place the pork chops in the air fryer with a small space between each one. If the pork chops are touching, they won’t reach their full crispy potential.
- Cooking From Frozen: To cook frozen chops, set your air fryer to 375°F and cook for 20-25 minutes, flip them about halfway through. Cooking from frozen could change the final texture and crips so I always recommend letting them thaw out when possible.
- Use a Meat Thermometer: Using a meat thermometer ensures your pork chops are fully cooked without drying out.
Air Fryer Thin Pork Chops FAQs
Yes, they do. Although air fryers use circulating air, it's still a good idea to flip your chops and other meats halfway through cooking to ensure even cooking on both sides.
Yes, you can. While I prefer defrosting first, if you're pressed for time, you can cook them from frozen. Change the temp to 375°F the recipe directions and increase the cooking time to 20-25 minutes.
The most common cause of dry air fryer boneless pork chops is overcooking. Invest in a quality meat thermometer and check your chops for doneness at the specified time. This ensures fully-cooked chops that aren't dry.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1.5 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon thyme
- 2 tsbp garlic olive oil
- 6 thin pork chops
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 °F degrees.
- Make sure to rinse your pork chops with cold water then pat completely dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, mixed together, all seasoning ingredients minus the olive oil. Once you have the seasonings combined, pour in the olive oil, and mix well. It should be similar to a thick paste. When you have done this, coat the pork chops with your rub. Be certain to rub into the pork chop and cover well on both sides.
- Place pork chops in the air fryer being certain to leave a small space in between each pork chop. Putting pork chops too close to one another will cause them to steam.
- Cook on 400 ℉ for 5 minutes, then flip all of the pork chops and cook again for 4-5 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 145 °F degrees.
Notes
- This step is very important for even cooking and accurate cooking times, and it only takes about 3 minutes.
- Place the pork chops in the air fryer with a small space between each one. If the pork chops are touching, they won’t reach their full crispy potential.
- Using a meat thermometer ensures your pork chops are fully cooked without drying out.

This is a tasty spice combination for pork chops! I don't have an air fryer but I was eager to make this recipe so used my convection oven. I kept an eye on the pork chops while they cooked and checked the temperature to make sure they were done. It look a little longer in my oven than the time listed in the recipe. But not by much. I served them with baked potatoes and a big salad. Wonderful recipe!
